This poster was created to promote a production of Molière's play, Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, a 5 act comedy about the Middle-Class Aristocrat'', or 'Would-Be Noble''.  The play, intermingled with music, dance and singing, satirizes attempts at social climbing poking fun both at the vulgar, pretentious middle class and the vain, snobbish aristocracy.
