 With flowing blue dress and a flower garland in her hair this beauty seems to be celebrating the uplifting effects of the bitter orange cordial Amer Picon.

 Gaetan Picon of Belgium,  first concocted Amer Picon in 1837 (amer means “bitter” in French). The drink was reputed to be good for the stomach and to aid digestion. Around the turn of that century Picon began the mass production of the the additive.
