Jantzen

In the 1950's Janzen swimwear adopted the slogan "Nothing does as much for a girl as a Jantzen" and their advertising, often illustrated by artist Peter Hawley, showcased confident and happy young women in their figure-hugging swimwear.  While emphasizing the slimming and supportive qualities of the swimsuit, the overall tone of the advertisements was one of joie de vivre.  In this German advertisement we see a young man in his Jantzen "trunks" admiring the gleeful bathing belle.
