Legend has it that, in 1923, whilst driving home, Pierre Marchal was captured by the sight of his cat's eyes piercing the darkness. When he, together with some friends, established the Marchal company to produce spark plugs and headlights for cars, he chose to adopt the image of the black cat (always popular with the French) as the company logo pairing it with the slogan - “I only lend my eyes to Marchal.” (Je ne prête mes yeux qu'à Marchal).
This poster, designed for the Marchal company in the 1950's by Jean Colin, embraces the iconic black cat placing him in a red racing car. The nostalgic charm and bold visuals of the poster create the perfect combination of cuteness and functionality.
Buy it because you love automotive history, or just because you love cats!. A must-have for car enthusiasts and cat lovers alike.
