Santa making his deliveries astride the Yule Goat.... In the past, the Yule Goat was a bit of a trickster, demanding gifts instead of giving them. But over time, this character evolved into the kind-hearted Joulupukki, who brings joy and presents to children. The Finnish word Joulupukki literally means 'Christmas goat' or 'Yule goat', pukki from the old Swedish word bukker, a derivative of the English "buck" or "billy-goat"
According to Encyclopedia Britannica:
"In Sweden the goat is now an integral part of the Christmas celebration, and the Yule goat is also considered by many holiday revelers to be a companion or counterpart to Santa Claus"
