Venice Simplon - The Alps

This poster was commissioned to promote the Alpine leg of the Venice Simplon Orient Express railway journey. Peeking through a window shaped to resemble the grapes of the wine-rich regions the train passes through, with a backdrop of snow-capped peaks and vine covered slopes, we see Chillon Castle, the most visited historic building in Switzerland, situated on the shores of Lake Geneva. The background graduates from the earthy brown tones of the vineyards, with train lines and carriages, to the blues of the alpine skies.
